Sanctum
The Sanctum turns quantity into quality. It merges stacks of chests and pouches into better ones, converts chests you will never open into resources, and marks a chest so the equipment inside lands on the part you want. This page carries the real odds, the real prices, and the one recipe whose product no longer does anything.

A recipe the developers have since removed
One Sanctum Combine recipe produced an item the game itself describes as no longer useful. Its item description says so outright:
Due to a feature change, this item is no longer useful and will be converted back into [Abyssal Scales] in the next update
The recipe consumed 6 × Abyssal Scales and gold each time, and the upgrade unlocking it cost holy bone on top. The input is a live consumable used to reach islands, so running it was a straight loss rather than a change of form.
A one-off conversion refunded these for saves that predated it, so the description's promise of a future refund no longer describes what happens to anything merged after that.
The developers removed this combine from the Sanctum upgrades in a later update, so it can no longer be bought or run. It is described here because the item can still be sitting in an older save.
Combine
Combine — the bench is labelled that in game — consumes a whole batch of identical items and returns one drawn from a weighted pool. Anything that does not make a full batch stays in your bag.
In game
- Combine turns lower-quality items into higher quality.
- More Combine recipes can be unlocked through Sanctum Upgrades.
A combined chest keeps the level of the chests that went in. A recipe that takes curios always returns a level 1 item, however good the inputs were.
Combining does not carry an omen across. An omen you have already applied stays on the leftovers and is lost on everything that combines, so the order to work in is combine first, apply the omen after.
What the Combine luck upgrade really does
The Sanctum's Combine upgrade raises the weight of every outcome except the plain one, up to +75. Because it moves weight rather than percentage, the odds rise by less than the number suggests — and a recipe with only one outcome gains nothing at all from it.

What combining chests costs
Chest recipes read their price from the chest's level and quality rather than from the recipe.

Rune pouches
Combining rune pouches walks them up in quality. The Sanctum offers 4 upgrades for this, reaching the 4th step — a legendary rune pouch.
Conversion
Conversion turns equipment chests you are never going to open into resources. Three chest qualities can be converted; legendary and above cannot.
Conversion is not free. Every batch of 50 chests costs one attack runestone and one defense runestone, both of the chest's own quality — you pay both families, not one. Runestones come out of your bag only.
Converting common chests is available as soon as conversion is unlocked. Fine and rare chests each need an upgrade of their own; those two upgrades are switches, not bonuses.

The resource upgrade reaches +45%. It is applied to the whole batch and rounded up once, so splitting a stack into several conversions collects a rounding on each one and actually yields slightly more resource. Convert in one go anyway: every conversion is charged its own runestone pair, which costs far more than those few points.
One upgrade gives a 30% chance to charge no runestones at all. It is all or nothing rather than a reduction — but you still need the full runestone count in your bag for the conversion to be allowed.
If the resources a conversion would pay take you over your cap, the whole conversion fails rather than paying what fits.
Runestone pairs per conversion
One pair covers up to 50 chests, and every conversion charges at least one pair. This number is fixed — no Sanctum upgrade changes it.
- 1×1
- 50×1
- 51×2
- 200×4
Omens
An omen locks the equipment part a chest will roll. It does not change the quality or the level of what comes out, only which slot it is for.
You cannot choose the part. It is drawn at random from the seven, and rerolling always lands on a different part than the one you had — but the reroll resets the number of uses and charges holy bone again.
An omen carries a number of uses chosen when you apply it. Each chest opened spends one, and the omen clears itself when they run out.
Omens cost holy bone, scaling with the chest's level and quality. The omen discount reaches 30%.
Two omened chests of the same kind will not stack, so each takes its own bag slot. A chest with no omen does stack onto an omened pile — the count rises, the uses do not.

Every Sanctum upgrade listed here changes its value — none of them is wasted against a ceiling. That is true of this building's numbers as they stand, not a guarantee of how upgrades work in general.
